On January 17th at 6:00 pm join us for An Evening of Jazz: Celebrating Max Roach at the Museum of the Albemarle.  This special event highlights the incredible legacy of Max Roach, a pioneer in the world of jazz.  While you're here, don't miss the Museum of the Albemarle's History for Lunch events, where you can explore fascinating stories and topics highlighting Elizabeth City's rich history. 

Also, on January 17th, at 7:00 pm enjoy a captivating performance by Elizabeth Von Trapp whose grandparents inspired "The Sound of Music" film. This event will be held at Christ Episcopal Church and is part of the church's special Bicentennial celebration, marking 200 years of community and history. 

On January 18th, head over to Arts of the Albemarle for the highly anticipated Battle of the Bands.  Watch as talented musicians take the stage and compete for the top spot.  While you're here don't forget to take a stroll through their gallery and enjoy a host of other events they have lined up.

Looking ahead, on February 7th starting at 4:00 pm, the First Friday ArtWalk will showcase creativity and artistry throughout downtown Elizabeth City.  Stroll through downtown businesses, meet local artists, and enjoy a vibrant evening of culture. 

On February 15th at 6:00 pm, don't miss the  Arts of the Albemarle  "It's 5 O'Clock Somehwhere: Annual Fundraiser" featuring themed cocktails, light food fare, a DJ to get you dancing, and silent and live auctions.  Dress island casual or city chic and prepare for an unforgettable night of fun! 

On February 22nd at 7:00 pm, experience the thrilling and dynamic sounds of Taikoza, a Taiko group that features Taiko drums, Shakuhachi, and Fue.  This event takes place at the College of the Albemarle Performing Arts Center.
