Gear up and get ready to ride; the new date for the 30th Annual TarWheel Cycling Event is April 12, 2025! We're excited to be able to welcome cyclists back to Elizabeth City while keeping health and safety top priority.
Explore our scenic, flat, countryside course as you travel through the beautiful northeastern NC counties of Pasquotank and Perquimans. You have the option of 33, 62, or 100 mile rides. The rides start on the waterfront in downtown Elizabeth City. You'll cycle by multiple waterfront areas and the majestic countryside, passing farmlands, pastures, barns, and historic homes. You'll pedal by horses, cows, birds, turtles, and other wildlife. Our countryside skylines are amazing!

The 30th Annual TarWheel Cycling Event takes place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, on a scenic, flat, countryside course through the beautiful Pasquotank & Perquimans Counties in northeastern NC. You have the option of 33, 64, or 100 mile rides. The rides start on the waterfront in downtown Elizabeth City at Dog Corner Park (600 Southern Avenue). You'll cycle by multiple waterfront areas and the majestic countryside, passing farmlands, pastures, barns, and historic homes. You'll pedal by horses, cows, birds, turtles, and other wildlife. Our countryside skylines are amazing!
There will be coffee, water, juice, and light snacks before the ride (we'll be bringing back our famous Balls, Bacon, Bananas, and Brews
REQUIRED:
Signed waivers; Helmets; Adult permission and ride supervision for any young adult or child under the age of 16.
Packet Pickup:
Friday evening: April 11, 2025, 4:00-7:00 pm, *Location to be determined*. (*Free Craft Beer Voucher for those picking up packets on Friday evening)
Saturday morning: April 12, 2025, 7:00-9:00 am, Dog Corner Park, 600 Southern Avenue, Elizabeth City, NC 27909

Parking:
Parking available at Dog Corner Park (600 Southern Ave.), Waterfront Park (508 S. Water Street), and City Municipal Parking Lot (309 S. Poindexter St.)

We invite you to "Make a Weekend of it in Elizabeth City!" Enjoy our downtown restaurants, pubs, and breweries. Or stay over for optional (on your own) rides. We will be providing you with a list of restaurants and other events and activities happening that weekend!
Come early on Friday evening, April 8th for the Early Packet Pick-up and Social at our local brewery, Ghost Harbor, and get a ticket for a free craft brew at one of our downtown breweries/draught houses. Stay through Sunday and enjoy our charming little town.
