Welcome to the Pasquotank River Yacht Club - or PRYC for short. We are a small club but we know how to have fun. During the year we have several fun events. A spring "Burning of the socks" party, get-togethers, after club races and Regattas, a Halloween Party, and of course the Christmas Party.
We are one of the four yacht clubs in the Albemarle Sound Sailing Association (ASSA), which has joined up for a weekend filled with several regattas where we race sailboats over 23 feet long. Each racing venue has its own charm and is a good destination for cruisers too, both power and sail. If you do not know how to race we will be more than happy to guide you on your way to the winner's trophy. Do not have a boat? No problem! You can crew on one of the racing boats. The skippers are always looking for crew and no experience is necessary.
If sailboat racing is not what you like or your boat is not a sailboat we have members that love to cruise either in groups or can show you where the fun spots are on the sound. Some of our members have long distance experience and can guide you to cross oceans. We are a member of a cruising club that gives you reciprocal rights at Yacht Clubs around the world.
Another Regatta we help out with and some sail in is the Classic Moth Boat Association (CMBA) Nationals. The PRYC was formed for the Mothboat, which was first built here.
