Located in Camden County. The one primary dirt road through the middle of the North River Game Land provides good birding opportunities. If you have the energy to make it 3 miles, you will find a 55 acre waterfowl impoundment at the end of the road and will have chances to see wading birds, shorebirds and wintering waterfowl. Even if you don't make it the full distance, you will pass through both upland and swamp forest habitats along the way, with opportunities to see and hear birds typical of these habitat types. Wood Duck are present year-round, along with Wood Thrush, Prothonotary, Swainson's and Hooded Warblers during the summer. Watch and listen for Brown-headed Nuthatch and Indigo Bunting in open pine woodlands.
