Would you like to see a 900 pound railroad coupler up close, or operate a locomotive simulator? You can at the Norfolk Southern Museum, where the past meets the future, daily. At the Norfolk Southern Museum, visitors can learn about more than 180 years of railroad history and look at the transportation system of tomorrow. Exhibits highlight some of the company's history and artifacts: sections of Civil War-era track, vintage hand tools, photographs of workers past and present, and diagrams to teach hand signals to railroad trainees. Located in downtown Norfolk, within walking distance of Nauticus, MacArthur Center, and the Cannonball Trail history tour.
