Located just north of downtown Elizabeth City, this park sits on approximately 30 acres. It has a 15,800 square foot recreation center, a 4,400 square foot senior center and a nine hole par-3 golf course measuring 800 yards in length.The park also features a picnic and fitness area along the Knobbs Creek, and the Holmes Baseball Field. Horseshoe pits, a children's play area and spacious parking complete the outdoor facilities in this park.
Holmes Baseball Field is named in honor of Wilton "Hester" Holmes who coached youngsters in Elizabeth City for thirty years. It serves as the home for the Elizabeth City State University Vikings baseball team as well as other local teams, and various district and state tournaments are played on this field each year. The playing area is completely irrigated and has a Musco lighting system for night play and Bermuda grass turf. This field is located behind the Knobbs Creek Recreation Center along the Knobbs Creek.
