Looking for an idea for an inexpensive date night? Check out Elizabeth City Downtown, Inc.'s Music on the Green concert series. These free public concerts feature our talented local music scene. Beginning August 7, and continuing for eight consecutive Tuesday evenings through September 25th, local and regional bands will perform at Mariners’ Wharf Park (200 S. Water St.) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Music lovers can bring a lawn chair or a blanket and sit back and enjoy the music as well as the beautiful waterfront backdrop. Each week the spotlight will be on a different artist and a different genre of music so come for all eight evenings and expand your musical horizons.
The music line up will be announced later this month on ECDI’s Facebook page and food and drinks will be available for purchase on site. Concert goers are also encouraged to visit the many local downtown restaurants, watering holes and businesses before and after the concerts. Enjoy a wonderful night out! For other spots to hear live music, discover the places one of our locals, Nelson Campbell, likes to frequent. Share your experiences with us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. We can’t wait to see your adventures! Liza Franco is a photographer, linking stories with photos and videos to give the reader a complete vision.
