Tourism Director: Salaried position responsible for preparing annual fiscal budget. Responsible for recruiting and training paid and volunteer staff. Responsible for supervising all paid and volunteer staff and interns. Responsible for administering and reviewing Tourism Assistance Grants, including attendance at events sponsored by the TDA. Strengthening and creating new partnerships, including institutions of higher learning, downtown organizations, arts council and economic development agencies. Oversee office space and visitors center operations. Oversee and supervise website content. Supervises work conducted by marketing agency. Responsible for gathering information needed to implement marketing and advertising plans for Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County. Provides staff support to the TDA and its committees. Represent Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County at appropriate local, regional and state tourism meetings and events. Publish quarterly newsletter reports to City Council of Elizabeth City and Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners and other stakeholders. Responsible for reviewing all invoices and working with bookkeeper for payments to vendors. Write press releases. Prepare PowerPoint presentations. Schedule speaking engagements. Make appearances on media outlets. Work with tourism industry partners to develop a meaningful hospitality product for all travelers. Responsible for design and productions of materials promoting tourism in Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County. Maintain a professional level of performance, service and accuracy while creating a hospitable environment representing Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County’s tourism industry. Maintain current travel information in the visitors bureau lobby, including local, regional and state attractions and sites. Oversee distribution of Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County visitor information and maintenance of adequate inventory in welcome centers, chambers of commerce and other designated outlets. Oversee response to all requests for visitor, newcomer and student information, packaging and mailing materials. And shall perform related duties as assigned or become evident by the TDA board and/or the chairperson. Accepting resumes until filled.
