12:15 PM - 1:00 PM
Join us on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 12:15 p.m. for a History for Lunch talk for all fans of Outlander. Meg Puckett, Herd Manager of the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, will discuss horses in Colonial North Carolina from their introduction by the Spanish in the 1500s, to what Jamie and Claire would have experienced in the 1700s. Meg will discuss the types of horses they may have encountered in Scotland during that time, and how they were similar to the horses the Spanish were breeding in North America. Discover how the Banker ponies today can be linked to Outlander and the exhibit The Artifacts of Outlander produced by Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum, home to the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory.
For fans of the Outlander series, this traveling exhibit, produced by Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum, home to the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory, will showcase a variety of 18th-century artifacts that compare to those of the world featured in the series of novels by Diana Gabaldon and a television series that airs on the Starz network.
This program is FREE and open to the public; you're welcome to bring a lunch.
