Join the Museum of the Albemarle for a History for Lunch, "From Bandstand to the Beatles: 1960s Pop Music Culture." Enjoy a lecture from the comfort of your home or in-person at the museum on June 16, 2021 at 12 p.m. 

Douglas Jackson, Assistant Professor of Visual and Performing Arts, Elizabeth City State University, will explore seminal popular music events of the 1960s, Disk Jockey Alan Freed, American Bandstand, Shindig, the British invasion, and the story behind North Carolina's own Little Eva and her song " Locomotion". 

The Museum will offer the History for Lunch in-person and through Zoom:
